Yes fellow alumni, the book entitled "DAHON, TUBIG, KALIBUTAN: SIDAY PANGKALIBUNGAN" is already out. This book (his 3rd or 4th?) is a compilation of his Environmental Poetry, peppered here and there with a lot of his 'Pen Art'! So nagawas nga 2-in-1 na ini nga libro! A very good find indeed.
As Leo Mamicpic (FPE RAC - Visayas Coordinator) says in the book's preface: "I can consider this book as Hermie's way to remind us of our day to day struggles with our advocacy for environment and how we should sustain ourselves for the never-ending path we all personally took..."
While Oliver Agoncillo (FPE Executive Director) in his back cover message says about the book:..."brings nature closer to the heart of its readers. He vividly captures environmental issues and experiences that evoke our emotions into actions. He effectively captivates our hearts and challenges us to put our ideas into action to promote justice and to protect the environment".
Beautiful waray-waray poetry! And this time it is all about mother earth. Titles pa la, you will already want to read the siday. Here are some of the titles: "Dahon", "Linog", "Ha Kaagahon", "Pangandoy Han Tuna", "Panangis Han Mga Parupamatbat Ha San Joaquin" - intriguing, right?
Adi pa: "Bahura", "Tulay". "Ulot" - (ayaw kabaraka dear alumni, diri ito nga siday about you, about the river ito)! Adi pa gud: "Yolanda", "Ruby", "Glenda" - diri ito mga uyab ni Hermie, mga bagyo ito!
Anay na gud... kay hino man ngayan ini nga gin he Hermie?
Well, still at the book's back cover, the descriptions says he is "A poet, writer composer and artist. He is a graduate of Civil Engineering at the DWU Tacloban and Theology in St. John the Evangelist School of Theology, Palo, Leyte. He is a fellow of various writing workshops and a performance poet"...
